How It All Began
My journey into the world of dog training started from a lifelong passion for working with dogs. As a teenager, I aspired to become a K9 handler in the military. However, at 16, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), which meant I could no longer pursue that path. I then considered becoming a police officer with a K9 partner, but my condition raised concerns about my physical capability to handle the demanding role. After much research and soul searching, I found my true calling in training dogs. I immersed myself in learning by reading books and watching YouTube videos, practicing with my childhood dogs. Witnessing their joy as they understood my commands made me realize that this was my true passion and purpose.

Overcoming Challenges
One of my biggest challenges was with my first dog, Mufasa, who suffered from severe separation anxiety and reactivity. His destructive behavior led us to seek help from our vet, who prescribed a high dose of Trazodone. While it alleviated his anxiety, it also turned him into a shell of his former self. Discovering Absolute Dogs and their games-based training was a game-changer. Implementing their techniques transformed Mufasa’s behavior without medication. He became a happy and well-adjusted dog, and I learned invaluable lessons that I now share with my clients.
